Wollaton Park
Wollaton Hall
NG8 2AE
DESCRIPTION
Wollaton Hall is a spectacular Elizabethan Mansion and Deer Park set in the beautiful suburbs of Nottingham. Wollaton Hall was designed by Robert Smythson and built by Sir Francis Willoughby between 1580 and 1588 for his family. Now a prominent Grade One listed building, the stunning Hall houses the city's Natural History Museum along with reconstructed room settings. Standing on a natural hill three miles west of Nottingham City Centre, Wollaton Hall is set in five hundred acres of spectacular gardens and parkland. The hall was used as the setting for Wayne Manor in the 2012 Batman film, Dark Knight Rises. The Park annually hosts one of the largest cross country races in the world and this will be a beautiful, challenging and rewarding course for runners of all abilities.
Parking
A good level of parking is available on site and an overflow car park is also available as numbers are expected to be large at this venue. However, the Park is less than a mile from Campus so those staying on Campus should consider walking or jogging to the Park as a warm-up.
Catering
There is a donut and drink concession van on site as well as other food and drinks outlets in and around the Hall.
