DESCRIPTION

Trentham is an award winning garden which in 2013 won the Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism Gold Award. In 2012 this beautiful destination was highly commended by Visit England in the large visitor attraction category and in September 2010, the Gardens won one of the most prestigious European gardening awards, for the “Restoration, Enhancement or Development of a Historic Park or Garden”. 

At the centre of Trentham Gardens is the mile long, Capability Brown designed, Trentham Lake.This is truly an iconic destination for the Games Dragonboat Racing.  This terrific venue hosted the Games in 2015, and European and World Corporate Cups of Dragonboat Racing in 2016 and 2017 respectively.  It is a stunning backdrop for the racing.  Changing facilities are limited due to the nature of the destination but Gazebo’s are permitted along the banks of Trentham Lake. We are advising teams to bring their Gazebos to assist in promoting your organisations and to also help create the outstanding atmosphere witnessed in recent Games Gazebo village destinations.

In between races feel free to explore the contemporary revival of the famous Italian Gardens that was led by renowned designer and multi-Chelsea gold-medal winner Tom Stuart-Smith.To the east of the Italian Gardens are the Rivers of Grass and the adjacent Floral Labyrinth. Both these schemes were designed by eminent Dutch plantsman, and Chelsea gold-medal winner, Piet Oudolf. Or feel free to take the circular lakeside walk all the way round the Lake as it takes you aside the River Trent, by the bird hide, through Capability Brown’s cascading weir and along atmospheric woodland trails.

Catering
Trentham has an array of Café’s and dining opportunities to suit all tastes. It even houses a shopping village that attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year.   Though you can bring your own food and beverages, please note that Barbeque's are not allowed inside the gardens.
